چکیده

A female mouflon, weighing 40 kilograms, was submitted to the diagnostic laboratory of Institute Veterinary Medicine Serbia for determining potential cause death. Necropsy revealed massive hemorrhages in subcutaneous and intermuscular tissue on papillary muscle. Petechiae ecchymoses were found omentum, mesentery adipose heart, kidney costal pleura. Haemorrhagic-necrotic enteritis duodenum jejunum characterized by catarrhal hemorrhagic inflammation with presence mucous bloody content, whereas gas bubbles submucosa have also been confirmed. Bacterial cultures from sampled organs identified as Clostridium perfringens type A, septicum, sordelli. Based established pathological histological changes results bacteriological, biochemical, molecular examination, state septic shock toxemia disseminated bleeding immediate mouflon The condition is a consequence enterotoxemia caused sordelli infection.

Molecular and Cellular Basis of Microvascular Perfusion Deficits Induced by Clostridium perfringens and Clostridium septicum

Reduced tissue perfusion leading to tissue ischemia is a central component of the pathogenesis of myonecrosis caused by Clostridium perfringens. The C. perfringens alpha-toxin has been shown capable of inducing these changes, but its potential synergy with perfringolysin O (theta-toxin) is less well understood. Similarly, Clostridium septicum is a highly virulent causative agent of spontaneous ...

An unusual necrotic myositis by Clostridium perfringens in a German Shepherd dog: A clinical report, bacteriological and molecular identification

Clostridial myositis, considered to be rare in pet animals, is an acutely fatal toxaemic condition. Some species of clostridia are responsible for necrotic myositis. A 2-year-old male German shepherd dog was admitted with non-weight bearing lameness and massive swelling of the left hind limb. Clostridium perfringens type A with alpha toxin was diagnosed as a pathogenic agent. Based on ...

Glucose degradation in Clostridium perfringens type A.

Cell-free extracts of Clostridium perfringens were found to contain all the enzymes of the Embden-Meyerhof pathway of glycolysis in addition to lactic acid dehydrogenase and the pyruvate-clastic system. Neither glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase nor 6-phosphogluconate dehydrogenase activities could be demonstrated, suggesting the absence of the conventional hexose-monophosphate pathway in this o...

Clostridium septicum infection and hemolytic uremic syndrome.

Five cases of Clostridium septicum infection secondary to Escherichia coli O157-induced hemolytic uremic syndrome have been reported. We report on three cases (one of which is included in the above five) of dual Cl. septicum and E. coil infection; all three patients were exposed to farm animals. A common zoonotic source for Cl. septicum and E. coli O157 infections should be considered. Patients...

Neutropenic enterocolitis due to Clostridium septicum infection.

Three cases of neutropenic enterocolitis are described. This unusual condition occurs almost exclusively in neutropenic patients and has a fulminating course which is almost invariably fatal without surgical intervention. The lesion is centered on the caecum and hitherto its pathogenesis has been unclear, partly because most studies have been performed on material obtained at necropsy. In these...
